Hi,
I just found out i can actually category folders by right click on folder and select category, i don't know if it a bug or feature. But the categories window is unable to edit when i highlighted a folder, so i can't untick mis-categorized folder.
It is a good feature to let user category a folder, i hope you can fix the categories window instead of treated it as a bug and remove "category on folder" feature.

The problem still exists in v0.84:
You can drag a folder and drop it on a category. The folders are displayed with category icon.

No.

Besides the glitches in GUI there isn't the necessary DB support for this. Your "assigned category" isn't saved anywhere - just restart the program to see.

Besides that, supporting this feature would open an entire can of worms (queries need to be rewritten etc.) because the folders are saved in a different table than files.

Btw, folders NEED to be "categorized" but the 'category' engine for them is already there: the file system.

Ok, XnView needs to support the shortcuts.

First bug has been reported by original poster:
Actual behaviour: When selecting a folder, the category pane is disabled.

Expected behaviour: When selecting a foldre, the category pane remains enabled and the user can assign and remove categories as desired.

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.85 beta 1. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.

Partially fixed. The "Assigned" category set and custom category sets are still grayed.

PARTIALLY fixed. See my msg. Did you tested it?
