XnView Software

XnMP 0.8.2 on arch linux.

How do I create the categories to assign them to images?

I read: http://www.xnview.com/wiki/index.php/Ca ... _XnView_MP but it doesn't explain how to create new ones.

I either press on the '...' and nothing happens or down triangle > action > assign category and nothing

Category sets: I add one, but then "it disappears"...

Obviously, I'm doing something wrong but what?

Hello:

1 thing that you might be missing is. You need to first select a file before you can edit the Catagory panel.
Edit: You should be able to Right Click inside the panel on the right, then add new catgories.

Make sure catagories tab is selected for the panel, you should have 3-4 default catagories, right click under or on these catagories. then add new

Also you can right click on image, Edit/IPTC ( has a category/keywords tab ) or edit Category. (Bottom choice)
Options must be set to read file exif for it to auto-fill the panel when using edit/iptc. Under main settings>> Meta data

nothing: no default, just empty

Obviously something I'm doing is wrong.

Is there some instruction on how to delete all the xnviewmp data and restart fresh. Currently I'm only using xn just for culling and renaming images.

Please go to Tools » Settings... » Integration » Paths » XnView settings » Open Config Files Location and delete (or rename) xnview.ini.
