MP (Mac): Security settings for iMac to make XnView work

Hello,
I get this message "Your security settings only allow installation of applications from the Mac App Store and identified developers."
I have no clue what to do to make Xn view work again.
I reinstalled it just now.
I have an IMac and I use Firefox as browser.
I really would appreciate some help if possible.
Explanation for dummies would be good.

I'm not a Mac user but a quick Google gives
this possible answer...
If that isn't the solution you need, a refined search should produce the answer you need as Google is an excellent resource for finding answers to computing issues.

I tried it before registering here and I didn't find any solution, yours didn't help either.
But finally now it did. Someone else offered to help. <3
