Hi,

I did not find a solution for my need, neither in the xnview application, nor in the forum. Maybe I used the wrong terms within the search functionality.

Problem:
I'd like to resize my images in a batch to a fixed resolution e.g. 10 megapixel. This is possible if you know the ratio of the images to set min/max height/width, but in case you have mixed images from different cameras wit different ratio (e.g. 4:3, 16:9, 3:2, ...) you need to do the resize individually.

Question:
I there an existing batch resize functionality to resize images to a fixed resolution?

I think, a setting to define the minimum or maximum number of total pixels e.g. 10 for 10 megapixels should be enough for xnview, to calculate automatically the needed heigth/width to be below or above the set value.

The batch processing of XnView Classic does not support the resizing to a fixed size in MPixel. Though batch processing of XnView MP does:
1. Start XnView MP
2. Select images
3. Select "Batch convert..." or press Ctrl + U
4. In "Action" tab add the action Image > Resize.
5. As parameters for the Resize action choose Mode "MPixels" and as image size your desired image size.
6. Specify output name and directory as desired.
7. Click "Convert" to start conversion.

I tried MP long time ago and I decided to keep the classic version. So I think I'll give the MP version again a try (I already installed MP after your comment and saw this cool feature).

Do you think the classic version will also get this feature (resize to MegaPixel)?

Good to read that you try XnView MP again. In the current version (0.83) slideshow and webpage creation is missing, apart from that it's pretty complete.

Resizing to a specific size in MegaPixel is really a good feature that should make it into XnView Classic. If there's a demand for it, Pierre might add it.

Thank you for this very useful information. I did not find the latest comparison between classic and MP with a quick search, only an old post.

How to "create" a demand?
On the other hand, maybe this MP feature let me stick to the MP version.

sorry for digging up this old post!

I want to batch resize my images to 120MP but the maximum possible value in the program ist just 99.99MP.

Can this limit be increased?
