<Moderator's note: Originally this was a bug report but it turned out to be a suggestion.>
___

Subject: 0.83: Middle-click Switching mode bug

1. Open XnViewMP x64 v0.83 in Browser mode
2. Select an image (JPG, PNG or PDF)
3. Middle-click on the selected image -> Image displays in Fullscreen perfectly
4. Middle-click again to return to Brower mode, exit Fullscreen and Nothing happens!

Update
Just checked XnView Classic 2.39 and works perfectly as long as I disable support for XnView in Listary Pro (another cool toy)

I understand and can confirm assigning to "Do Nothing" works well!

Thank you!

It's good that a solution has been found. But this double assignment of mouse keys should be improved by a better handling of XnView and/or better user interface.

Suggestion:
Rather than having a tab "Switching mode", all the functions for switching could be added to the dropdownlists for the appropriate mouse buttons on "Mouse" tab.

Example:

Code: Select all

Middle button: Do nothing
               Move picture
               Make selection
               Zoomed selection
               Switch: Browser<>Fullscreen|Viewer<>Fullscreen
               Switch: Browser<>Viewer
               Switch: Browser>Fullscreen>Viewer
               Switch: Browser>Viewer>Fullscreen
And assignment of "Enter" key would move from "Switching Mode" tab to "Keyboard" tab.

In the above suggestion it's not so obvious anymore that you can influence the way XnView switches between Browser, Viewer, and Fullscreen. But all in all the user interface is clearer: On "Keyboard" tab you control specific keys and on "Mouse" tab you control the behaviour of specific mouse buttons.
