Hi there,

I just downloaded the newest version of xnviewmp (the linux x64 tgz file).
Unpacked it as mentioned.
When I doubelklick the xnview.sh file it always opens with gedit. The file is checked to open as program.

I am a LinuxDummy, in the forum I did not find helpful topics AND answers - please help.

Using:
openSUSE Leap 42.1 (x86_64) 64-Bit
GNOME 3.16.2

Thank you

I experienced the same with Kubuntu. XnView stopped opening since several weeks now in Lux. Today I deinstalled it and reinstalled the newest v0.83 deb package. Installation finished successfully, but the window is not displaying while opening a picture or XnView directly.

I also chmodded (within folder /opt/XnView/)

Code: Select all

sudo chmod +x xnview.sh
Is it based on QT and can it be related to Kubuntu's switch to QT5.7?

/opt/XnView/XnView: error while loading shared libraries: libgstapp-0.10.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Several links below explained that this can be solved via "apt install libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-0", however this package was updated and is no longer available in Ubuntu 16.10 Yakkety. XnView should work with the current "libgstreamer-plugins-base1.0-0".
