Close Tab on doubleclick/enter in viewer

Hi,

I just tried the new XnView MP (being a long-time user of the classic XnView before) and I must say I'm positively suprised. I feared that there would be much bloat crawling in (judging from the "overloaded" screenshot and the use of Qt) but I have noticed neither longer startup times nor longer load times for the images, and after I tweaked the settings a bit I now have almost the same experience than with the "Classic" XnView 8)

However, this one thing is bugging me:

In XnView classic it was possible to have the viewer-tabs auto-close on ENTER/doubleclick (when enter/doubleclick is set to "return to browser"). In XnView MP, however, only "ESC" in the viewer closes the open tab, pressing ENTER or double-clicking returns me to the browser but keeps filling up the tab list with all previously opened image files.

Is there any way to get back the "old" behavior of closing the tab when returning to the viewer? I don'T know if it was an option in XnView classic that I turned on (if so, I cannot seem to find it again) or if it was default behavior, but it would be very cool to have it back :)

Also, can we get an option to move the tab below the menubar again please? :)

Which setting do you use in XnView Classic?

Sorry but it's not possible

I'm not sure. I think it did that by default? At least it does this for me.

I just tried finding out which setting it is and it looks like it's the Options->View->View->Only one window view opened (topmost checkbox) option. When I uncheck it, the tabs don't close anymore on enter/doubleclick. When it is checked, the tabs will be closed. Sadly, I couldn't find the option in the new options dialog of XnViewMP

Okay, can't help it then. Is there a way to completely hide the tab bar then? Or at least something like the former option "Hide tab bar when only one window is opened"? I couldn't find anything in the options...

View>> Tab

You can move them to the bottom also.

How embarrassing  . Here I was looking all over the "Settings" dialog, trying to find it. Thanks!

I hope my other problem has a similarly easy solution to it.... I mean now I can hide the tab, which is fine as a workaround but I know... they're still there..... hiding in the back.... laughing at me while I'm opening dozens of images, and at some point they will come out screaming "haha, tab limit reached, no more images for you today!" :D
