Movies

Hey,
So. I did an import and sort of a huge file I had into another file which was created just for this purpose. Thing is, all of the files have been changed into .exIST and .exIDT.
I have found how I can export them into jpg/ gif etc so that's not my question. My questions are:
1) How do I know which of these are movies?
2) What is the difference between these two types of extensions?
