"Edit Metadata" also for Browser

IMO all the stuff behind "Edit -> Metadata" in the Viewer, should be available in Browser, too.

That could be a great way to modify several images (several marked thumbnails) in a kind of batch.
There is already a task for that:

I support this. Metadata operations for multiple files would be really good and useful.

Any idea how this might be implemented? I was picturing it as an extra panel like what's currently available for the preview box in browser.
If possible/practical, I'd like for it to automaticly save data I've typed into the fields without having to click an extra button or anything. This is something that annoys me in other apps I've used. Some sort of undo/revert function would probably be a good idea, though.
A related feature that would be nice to have: a bar across the bottom of view mode for viewing/editing the (IPTC) caption.

i just downlaoded 1.82 beta and i tested the edit metadata in browser mode.
unfortunately the "Remove All Metadata" is still not available in Browser mode.

yes but clean is less powerful than Remove all metadata.
if i use clean the file size remains almost the same while using Remove all metadata the file size drops down a lot.
yuo should add "remove all metadata" in the browser mode as well. it would work in a batch-like mode for all the selected pictures

It would be great to have an additional panel in browser-mode (like the folder-treeview) with a structured list (like property panels in a programming IDE) to see exif metadata and to see/edit IPTC.
If you don't know what I've in mind, try opening excel, switch on the 'control toolbox' an select properties -> new window with two tabs (alphabetically or by categories). I think some kind of category-view would be best to see/edit metadata.

where should i send you the pictures?
by the way i noticed that if you "remove all metadata" something changes in the quality of the image...
the file size gets smaller but the image quality gets worst. i'm disappointed because people in the forum said that removing metadata shouldn't alter image quality .

Remove all data can optimize huffman table, that's all, there is no recompress of data...
