Switching mode: Close tab whenever switching to browser

Switching modes have been introduced a long time ago in XnView: The user can specify for a mode which event (double click, middle click, Enter) will switch him/her to which other mode. E.g. you can specify double-click to switch between Browser and Viewer and vice versa. In XnView MP you'll find the appropriate settings in Tools ยป Settings | Interface | Switching mode.
In XnView MP switching mode "Browser <> Viewer" is set by default. The user can double click to open an image. This is o.k., problem is that when double-clicking to close the image, again, XnView switches back to the browser but the image tab remains opened. As a consequence, when using double-click several times to open and "close" images, you end up with heaps of opened tabs.
I'd suggest to have a setting [x] Close image when switching to browser. If activated, XnView will close an image whenever the switching is triggered and target mode is browser. This setting will keep mainly novice users from opening more and more tabs when viewing images.
Note: When switching from browser to viewer or fullscreen, the image is opened. So it's just natural/symmetric that when switching from viewer or fullscreen back to browser the image is closed. So I think this new setting should be activated by default.
