0.84 64-bit: Zoom issue

This issue is specific to the 64-bit version.

Zooming certain images beyond a critical zoom value results in a split image or a crash (see below).

1. Open the attached 1-bit file;

2. Tools > Settings > View -- View tab -- High quality zoom -- color=#0040BF]Zoom-in and Zoom-out ;

3. Increase the zoom value until [at 142% to 200% in my tests] image splits or is otherwise corrupted.

The following error message may be displayed:

The Issue occurs with the above 1-bit TIFF file, also (unconfirmed) for a grayscale TIFF, but (unconfirmed) not for a grayscale JPEG.

Note: Crash occurred when tried to take a screenshot of the corrupted image using Alt + PrintScreen.

Thanks for creating this separate bug report, cday. Now that I read your bug report I see little difference to bug report 0.84: Crash when high quality zooming b/w image. The difference is the colour depth, right?

1. This issue is specific to the 64-bit version, the original issue is specific to the 32-bit version.

2. Although both issues relate to zooming, the 32-bit issue also requires use of the pan tool, doesn't it??

3. Colour depth [and file format] relevance require more testing, I think, due to the number of variables, although the 32-bit issue is specific to 1-bit files, I think from memory...

Let's hope that Pierre, in investigating one issue, will uncover something that fixes both.

cday, I've produced and reported problem 0.84: Crash when high quality zooming b/w image on Windows 10 64-bit. Using the Pan tool is optional to cause the crash even quicker. So I don't quite understand. Anyway, better two bug reports than none. :)

Maybe I need to read the whole thread again, if a mod is sure this is a duplicate report by all means delete this thread...

@cday: How do we proceed with this issue?

Well, in my tests in response to your request for confirmation of your issue using 'MP 32-bit, the fault presented differently in 32-bit and 64-bit versions:

32-bit -- Above a certain zoom setting the pan tool ceased working, the image on screen appeared frozen, but reducing the zoom value restored normal operation;

64-bit -- Above a certain zoom value the image was corrupted and the program crashed.

So different presentations in my test, possibly related to my exact settings, and possibly due to the same underlying bug, or not...

Also we don't know if Pierre moved the thread to resolved because he had fixed at least one bug, or possibly in error?

This problem is related to topic 0.84: Crash when high quality zooming b/w image and should be retested once a first test version of v0.85 is available.
