If I search, and abort, then please KEEP the partial list of files found.
I have 5000 files in one folder of 1000 nested subfolders. I can stop once you've found my event. I don't need you to keep searching the other 3000 files.

Thank you for this suggestion, obelisk. Your suggestion was proposed in another topic, already, see topic Search dialog: "Stop" instead of "Abort".
