Starting view on Linux Mint

I downloaded the MP 0.85 ".deb" 64-bit version and installed it on my Linux Mint running Cinnamon. When I select the program from the Graphics menu, the application starts with a very weird geometry setting where the application window expands across both my monitors. The resolution is also weird in the sense I can't read anything. Else, if I move the window around, it zooms in on a section of the window but I can't really use the application. Is there something wrong I'm doing or is this version not supported. I'm using Linux Mint 17.
