Hello.

System: Linux Debian Sid 64, XnViewMP 0.85

I batch exported some .tif to .png

I noticed missing exif displayed in the 'Details' View.

1.) .tif Before Export
Tab-ExifTool_Details_v01.png
2.) .png After Export
Tab-ExifTool_Details_v02.png
Also, in the Info>Exiftool Tab... differences after export;

3.) Before .tif export
Tab-ExifTool_v01.png
Tab-ExifTool_v01.png (6.65 KiB) Viewed 490 times
4.) After .png export
Tab-ExifTool_v02.png
Tab-ExifTool_v02.png (5.58 KiB) Viewed 490 times
Would you please provide the correct procedure to maintain all exif export
from .tif to .png ?

Thank you much.

Thanks Pierre.

I saw the EXIFTool listed in the tab and assumed.
I don't use .png, now I know, thank you.

It would have been nice to reduce all the large .tif files without
any loss by saving to .png.

Take care.

Best regards.

Do none of the TIFF compression options, all lossless except JPEG, provide satisfactory compression?

In XnView MP they are in Viewer | File > Format settings...

Or, if we're speaking about Batch Convert, he should choose TIF as (output) Format and press {Settings}. I would choose LZW+Predictor which generally speaking should provide the best outcome.
