Moving Files and Drag-Drop not Right

My primary File Browser for Windows is FreeCommander - it has dual panes and I love it (am beta-tester).
Also, I use three monitors.
So, FC is on monitor 1; MP is on monitor 2.
When I drag-n-drop a file (holding shift for move) from FC to MP across monitors, MP does not completely recognize what is happening.
The drop position shows in MP - that is, the line appears to indicate where the file will go, but the drop icon does not change every time.
Here's my test results:
drag to MP to copy (different drive letters): MP doesn't change the drop icon
But if I drop the file, it does copy.
But if I delete that file and do it again, the drop icon *does* change
and the file gets copied properly.
Next test:
drag to MP to move (holding shift): MP doesn't change the drop icon
but the file gets moved properly
Hower, occassionally, this moving process corrupts the file somehow to become unreadable like in my other thread.
The corruption is intermittent, and the non-display of the drag-drop icon in MP is intermittent, but I think it happens when I try to copy or move to an instance of MP where I have not previously worked file operations in during it's open session. Once I work a drag-drop operation in that window once, then it seems to work afterward. The key here is to test it on a window that hasn't been used yet.
