Cannot import from Samsung S5

Samsung S5, Windows 7 Home Edition Premium, XnView 2.41
When I connect the phone to my computer, and set the connection type to MTP, the phone is listed in the folder pane.
However, I cannot select any of the phone folders, although it will expand the list by clicking.
I have also tried setting the TWAIN type by selecting the phone, but "acquire from scanner or camera" does not display the phone as a choice. None of the other acquire options work either.
