What is the base folder for database portability?

Hi,

I have chosen xnviewmp as my asset management file and would like to ask what the base folder should be if I want it be portable.

What i meant about portability is if incase I need to move the assets, I don't need to rebuild the thumbnails and other metadata.

Since xnviewmp is portable, I plan to put xnviewmp beside the assets and create a shortcut to start it.

If xnviewmp folder is inside the asset folder, what should be the base folder ?

Thank you!

The 'base folder' must be edited the first time with clean database. It is used for relative pathname.
For ex., if one computer all of your photos are in d:\user\myphotos\ and on another one, it's e:\myphotos, the 'base path' on first one will be 'd:\user\' and on the second one will be 'e:\'. In the database only myphotos\... will be stored
