Xnview won't launch - problem with no SSE2 support on cpu?

I have an old PC. I tried to install 2.43 but it failed to launch. I installed 2.38 but that also failed to launch.
However 2.36 is okay on my pc. My pc is WinXP/SP3 with Celeron1800 cpu.
Is the problem because my cpu doesn't support SSE2?
