What do you think about a shortcut to copy or move directly a selected files in another folder (specified in options for example)?
Why not ?

Hello Pierre,
- If you mean always into a stated folder like : "
Five-legged_sheeps" or "
Exotic_formats", yes, it could be useful…

Kind regards,
Claude

Direct move to a folder is more useful to me. I often move files from an "incoming" directory to one "stored" directory (for later editing).
I have no preference about which keys to use.

Pierre

Hello Pierre !
- Usually, this is
F6 in the most file managers; but since users (I too ) wish to use it to display the Favourite folders list in the Browser, I'ld propose :
Ctrl+Insert
- It seems it isn't used already, and not too hard to remember…

Kind regards,
Claude

What about: Alt+F5 to copy and Alt+F6 to move, it would be very similar to file managers and intuitive.

Well, now I do have a key preference.

I think Clo's suggested
Ctrl+Insert would be an easier shortcut since it is near navigation keys (pg dn). I think this shortcut would be used very often.

But
Ctrl+Insert to copy? And move?

If 2 functions are needed, then
alt+insert to move,
"ctrl+insert" to copy?
alt+backspace to move &
crtrl+backspace to copy would also be easy keys to use. Perhaps better since they are not next to delete key?

Yes, Delete key is a problem. I have a new keyboard and Delete key is on Insert key's place now...
I still think that some combination of Ctrl/Alt/Shift + F5/F6 would be the best solution.
Another idea:
Ctrl+1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9/0 - to Copy appropriate slot
Shift+1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9/0 - to Move to appropriate slot
Alt+1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9 - to set path for appropriate slot
(Edit: 0 = last used dir.)
If it's too complicated, we could use just 3 "slots".
Ctrl+LMB and Shift+LMB are standard keys to Copy and Move with a mouse (drag&drop).

Currently, Alt+C is shortcut for "Copy to folder..." and Alt+M for "Move to folder". What about Alt+Shift+C and Alt+Shift+M for repeating the last copy/move action? (Or for the fixed copy/move operation - the last operation might not be what you want).
