Help! Most of my PSDs display correctly in XnView but one shows blank and several others only show part of the image.

Any ideas?

you have perhaps an alpha channel?

Mystery solved - when I was trying to figure out what an alpha channel could be, I noticed that I had no background layer in the Photoshop files affected by the issue.
