0.88: Save as… changes file extensions

OS: Mac 64bit
When trying to "save as…" files, the selected extension is wrong.
Effect: Files are saved in a wrong and unexpected format.
To reproduce:
1. I select an image I want to crop, I crop it
2. When trying to "save as" this image with a different name and in a different (or same) location as .jpg (for instance), selecting .jpg adds .iff extension, if I want to save as .gif, it adds .dcx extension, as if there was a 5 steps gap
Actual behaviour (bug): File extension of the saved image is not the one expected using "save as"

Was ok in 0.87.
