XnView Software

I want to copy the current shown PNG picture from XnView to Outlook. I do select all, than copy. But pasting into Outlook or LibreOffice for example doesn't work. Nothing happens. I'm using the newest version of XnView Classic, Windows 10,Office 2016, LibreOffice 6. I've also tested it with JPG and it's working.

I totally agree, the copy paste behaviour (within the picture view) in 2.45 is buggy. Sometimes it is possible to copy with ctrl-c and and paste it in any other program and sometimes it behaves as if nothing is in the clipboard (90%).

I´ve learned (also from many other complains in the forum):
1. only 32bit-bitmaps behave strange (24bit is no problem)
2. pasting within XNview (via edit/paste as new image) is working
3. pasting in Photoshop is also working
4. pasting in any other program (Word, Outlook, Corel, even Fireworks where all my 32bit-PNGs come from) is not working. Some programs show error "the data format is not available".
(4b. sometime same images works)
5. the often mentioned ctrl-shift-c is also not working (I still don´t understand why this strange key code is introduced)
6. All other pictureviewer are able to copy 32bit picture from the picture view

Devs, please fix this simple bug. I need it very often.

in xnview.ini, do you have CopyClipboard=0

Ctrl+Shift+C in browser copy only image data, does it work?

I tested it again with several programs. The behaviour is very strange as the result differs. As mentioned before it is only working with Photoshop with "ctrl+c" and default ini-entry: "CopyClipboard=0" and 32bit pictures.
Ctrl+Shift+C is never working.
Word allows pasting if "ctrl-c" but only from browse view and not from picture view.

Turning "CopyClipboard" to 1 makes it even worst as 24bit is also not working. Photoshop & Gimp does not paste anything, Fireworks pastes the path-string. Only Word works with "ctrl-c".
Why not having it always the same??? Xnview is a picture viewer and why can´t it copy pictures?

In Browser, if you copy a 32bits PNG, it will be loaded as 24bits, so Ctrl+C works always

Sorry but the problem is not with CopyClipboard (keep CopyClipboard=0)

But [Start] ClipboardNewMethod=0

It seems that some apps don't like the new clipboard format...

Thanks, with the new entry [Start] ClipboardNewMethod=0 it is possible to copy images. Not logical, as it is different in browser and viewer but it finally works
I switched to xnviewMP where ctrl-shift-c is always coping the image.

While testing it I found another bug: not all PNGs are shown/recognized as PNG. I coudn´t find the reason. Could be due to the amount of layers inside PNG, but the final size doesn´t matter.

Hello! I have been using XnView Classic for at least 5 years and today I first encountered this problem, ClipboardNewMethod=0 helped, the latest version of the program, Windows 10 with the latest updates.
