Hello there!
Please refer to the enclosed pictorial description & help clarify on whether these - '.zip downloads' amounts to "portable" release or is simply a different packaging ??
A humble request to clearly designate the downloads as portable or not to avoid confusion.
Inputs are being awaited.
Thank you.

you can use zip package as portable if you create a xnview.ini in the folder
For XnView MP, for example, in
Tools > Settings... > Integration -- Paths tab select
Use .ini file in folder -- Program (XnView).
For full portability, similarly on the same tab set the
Other settings to
Program (XnView).
Although the various program ZIP downloads may be used as portable programs on a memory stick, there may be some detailed limitations: for example, the Ghostscript utility required to view PDF and certain other file formats is only available as an installer, and so cannot be used with a portable copy of XnView software. There may, however, be a
PortableApps solution for that at least for XnView (Classic).
