"Loading picture..." progress bar/popup, how can i disable it?

Is it possible to disable it somewhere in the settings or maybe via INI editing? I have not found this option yet.
It's very distracting to me, it pops constantly even for for 1080p PNGs, even on SSD.
On a side note... I do not understand why is that "Loading picture..." popup was needed after so many years.
edit: Wait. Maybe it's just a bug and not a v0.91 feature? So far it pops only for PNGs and GIFs
