Options: Switching language more quickly

When using XnView I prefer German on-screen texts, whereas for the support and suggestions here in the forum, I need English. So I switch on-screen language very often. When doing so, it would be helpful if a *double*-click on an specific language item would both select it and confirm the option dialog with OK.
Sure enough I could use several .ini files, but I'd like to have a single .ini file with all my settings.

What about:
- menu item Language
- toolbar button Language with "sub-menus", same as Zoom button
- keyboard shortcut to change it (you could remove other languages and switch just between 2 languages)

Why should this small feature be blown that way?
Everyone using this, mainly wants to toggle between his native language and English (for forum).
So I suggest a simple (documented

) shortcut that steps through the list of installed languages - nothing more.
Everbody can delete installed languages in a way, that his favorites remain.
So if only 2 languages are installed, it's a real toggle.

I strongly agree, Lesmo16. Toggling the language is a problem for people who do testing and support, so probably much less than 100 users.

Hmm, perhaps helpful. To make this feature usable you would have to delete all languages except 2-4 to make this usable. Hmm.

OK, I don't need all these options, it was just possibilities.
Shortcut would be easiest and quickest, delete few lang. files is no problem for us I think.
It would be nice if it would work also in Options dialog (it would be useful for translators, but also for normal users if they are not sure about some option).
Maybe even, if possible, switch just between last two languages or between actual (native) and English with this shortcut.

Hello !
- It isn't necessary to delete all unusued languages, just move the “useless” DLLs in a sub-directory named differently, i.e. :
<Language_Storage> where you can pack them to save HD space…
- I do the same for the plugins, I have only the indispensable ones in the <Plugins> sub-dir. …

Toggling between language X and English sounds good to me. And you're right, swapping language might be good for all users when reading an explanation in this forum and to follow the steps for example.

This feature did not make it into 1.82, I'd like to see this in on of the next releases, perhaps even a minor release. At first a double-click would be sufficient.
A documented shortcut for toggling the language English to <automatically detected language> and back would be a good solution sufficient for most testers.

• I support too, it's quite tedious to use continually the languages Option page to change the language while testing…

So only for beta testing?
Not only

Hello Pierre !
- Not only… IMHO, the shortcut might remain valid in all stable versions too.
• For instance, I need often to change the language simply to show some GUI part in a reply here, or to draw a “fake” for some suggestion on the English forum…
- The one ticklish point is to define which shortcut (which doesn't need three hands !)

Kind regards,
Claude
