Convert image to JPG2000, WEBP with metadata, EXIF

I tried convert all my photoes with a better format. I read that Jpeg2000 or WebP should be better than jpeg or HEIC in the future.
I reading forums for days, but nobody has a way to keep the EXIF data from the original images. If I convert to WebP the metadata will be lost.
Anyone done this before? I googled and tried several thing.
