Converting vff to tif

I have a stack of CT scans in vff format (Sun Microsystems) that i need to convert to tiff or jpeg so that I can view them. I have tried XNConvert and XNViewMP but neither have worked. It seems that both XNConvert and XNViewMP can't even open the individual vff files.

Sun TAAC files with the extension VFF are listed as a supported format for reading, are you able to upload an example file that you are unable to open (in a ZIP or similar archive so that it can be attached, 2 MB the current forum attachment limit) ?

It seems that the forum doesn't allow .vff format attachments, unless I'm missing something...

That's why I suggested putting the file in a ZIP archive!

Yup. I have attached a zipped folder with one of the .vff files.
