... I discovered this context menu option by accident, after a loooong time thinking only XnView Classic has it.

=> other people might not stumble upon it, imho a menu item in "View" would make a lot of sense

What are you talking about? Can you be more precise?

There is a button also on the toolbar, but I agree that is is nice to have also a menu entry in a logical place with the same icon

You've got images in nested subfolders like ...

images\a\1.jpg
images\b\2.jpg
images\c\a\3.jpg
images\c\b\3.jpg

... and want to view all at once in the thumbnail browser.

Usually, you'd probably expect such an option in the menus somewhere near "View" (like it's in XnView Classic).

But in XnView MP you have no menu item, but just two other options:

1. you have to find the command is in the folder context menu: right-click "images" (in the folder tree, mind you, not in the thumbnails) then select "Show all files (recursive)" => that's near impossible to guess unless you know it's there.

2. as previously noted there's a toolbar icon, but as it's unlabeled I didn't see that either until just now (because I only expect menu items to have toolbar icons)

OK, now I understand.
I don't know, there is already two ways to do that. The menus are already well charged. Personally I don't need it, but indeed, in a logic way is missing in the "View" menu.
