Drag&Drop to Adobe Illustrator artboard doesn't work

Hi
I'm not sure is it bug or wrong settings.
I can't place image into opened document in Adobe Illustrator (Windows 10).
When I drag&drop any image file to Illustrator's artboard only text with the full file path is placed.
If drag&drop to empty space of Illustrator's window (not opened document), new document opens.
Drag&drop to open document in Photoshop works as expected.
Drag&drop from explorer to Illustrator works as expected.

It is a bug in Qt (the library which XnView MP is using).

The problem is already fixed in Qt:

Thank you for the explanation.
Will waiting for an update.
XnView one of the few viewers that shows OpenEXR which I use a lot.
There are few non-user-friendly minor apps.
Last I used was Adobe Bridge, the only solid app I know support EXR, I tired with it.
Acdsee doesn't support EXR, still.
For me that drag&drop bug
in XnView the only thing that separates the app from ideal.

How to install the new version of Qt 5.10? For the "Place" function to work.

You cannot do it. Ok, perhaps you can hack it but most probably it won't work.
Pierre uses his own dll's which are included in XnView's package.

Sure. XnView Classic uses Windows libraries which, of course, work. Qt has the problem. Too bad that Pierre hadn't found the time to upgrade the Qt.

New QT API doens't work anymore on old OS, i'll update for next version
