XnView Software

Recently I noticed that gifs seem to play a bit "slower" in xnviewmp. After comparing it to both IE and firefox, I concluded that xnviewmp does in fact play gifs a bit slower than browsers, which is quite irritating as sometimes it's very visible.

I wanted to ask if this is intentional and if there is something I can do about this, like changing the settings.

Sure, I tried adding it as an attachment.

Play the gif in xnviewmp and an internet browser at the same time. Place the windows next to each other and you should be able to notice that the gif plays smoother/faster in the browser.

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.94. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.

Hi, I am not the author of this thread but I tried out both betas and it seems better but starts lagging behind if the gif has a relatively short delay like 20ms. this problem seems to affect apng display too and happens in both xnview and xnviewmp afaik.

so not fixed? you have always a delay?

I checked the beta, and the bug appears to be fixed! Thank you very much!

Although definitely faster, this problem still persists in 0.94.1. Match up the example gif with a browser, and the browser will outpace the example gif provided earlier. (Thank you for all your work on xnviewmp, it is awesome!)
