In the tutorial I'm given, there is an option edit - metadata - remove all metadata.
Whereas when I use it, I can't see metadata under edit.
Screenshots of both included.

The top screenshot shows XnView MP, the lower screenshot XnView Classic...
I don't use metadata myself, but possibly that option is in a different location or hasn't been added to 'MP yet?

Does anyone know how to remove metadata on MP?
Maybe IPTC/XMP is metadata?

I'm pretty sure it is, so seems to be just a different interface...
You should be able to confirm with a simple test, but:
**Always test with copies of files!**

I don't see this option. The batch convert settings of format (save iptc exif xmp) aren't clearing it either.
The only way is to export with "remove all metadata" ticked, which is ok for a couple of files, but gets annoying quickly for 3+.

You have to select the image(s) in the browser view. That menu item is missing when displaying a single image.

Any chance this could be added to Viewer, not only to Browser, please? I spent a few minutes wondering and googling how to remove metadata in XnView MP until I found out I must exit the Viewer to see the menu item in Browser.

Tools, metadata, clean ...
XnView 2.42 (Windows)
Edit, Metadata, Clean ...

XnView MP Windows
Version 1.0 64bits (Apr 28 2022)
There is no metadata menu at all.. There are options to edit exif or iptc but no option to remove.

We will have to wait for the next version
When you open a photo by double-clicking, you enter "edit mode" and the function is not accessible.
Stay in the "Browser" tab, select thumbnails, and then you can access the menus.

				Hi Pierre,
Thank you for adding this. The dialog looks different for Browser and Viewer though, is that intended? The one in Viewer has less checkboxes (e.g. "Optimize Huffman table" is missing).
Also, Edit - Clean metadata... - Cancel, shows the image with * in front of its filename, as if it was changed.
