View only one file at a time.

Every time I open a file type the program will also overlay every other file within the source folder. If I have 10 files in my downloads folder and I open one file from downloads folder the bottom left will say 1/10 and let me scroll up and down between all of the files within my downloads folder. I've tested with different source folders and cannot find a way to open only one application. I do not want to scroll up and down between different files within my source folder.
