sony a7ii .arw raw conversion

Hi

Apologies in advance for the nooby question.

I am trying to view RAW .arw files from my Sony A7ii and the results are strange. The highlights are blowing out like crazy. I come from the cosy world of apple aperture which gives the results that I would expect, with range in the highs allowing me to expose down.

Is this because xnview is missing to correct RAW conversion profile for my camera/sony? If so, how would I go about adding this to XnView?

Perhaps I am missing somthing in the settings that can adjust the RAW profile.

Thanks

You might take a look at the rather hidden settings in the viewer File > Format settings... > Read tab and see if any of those settings help, I don't use RAW myself...

XnViewMP is a very good program, but for RAW-Conversion I would use other programs like Adobe Photoshop Elements 2019 (with Adobe Camera RAW 11.x) or other picture editing programs.

Download a demoversion (for 30 days) of RAW-Converter programs and compare it with XnViewMP. You will see the difference, because they have special useful automatic optimizations, which you can customize.
