Assigning Shortcuts to Categories

I have found some threads, not very old (from 2018), explaining how to assign a shortcut to a category, but I'm having trouble following the instructions. They refer to an RMB menu when you select a category, but the only RMB menu I can find is one that lets me rename or delete or create a new category--and nothing else. Nothing about settings or shortcuts, in particular.
Can someone help? I am using the most up to date version of XnView MP as far as I know.

I figured it out!
What I thought was the categories pane is not the categories pane. To activate the categories pane, I had to right click on the toolbar and click on "categories."
From there, was able to follow the instructions I'd found elsewhere--RMB on a category, "edit" or "settings" I forget which, and assign a shortcut.

RMB is 'right mouse button', more commonly known as 'right-click', is it?

Yes, that's correct.

More logical:
View \ Data Pane \ Categories (enable it)
Also, in the same menu you have Categories Sets to enable the Categories Sets pane. Very useful if you have several categories which appear again and again for certain photos. Besides that you have there some system managed sets like „History” and „Suggested”.
