Hi,

I would like to see images at the miniatur images only, no folders. I disabled folders at the filters, but they are still shown. What did I wrong?

you can use settings>File list>Custom filter

Like here? "Ordner" means folder. It's disabled, but the folder are still shown.

An other issue - if I open a folder than the preview images of every file is created and finally, all non image previews are hide like I set at the options. Loading the unwanted previews needs a lot of time which is not necessary.

I got it - I need to enable "custom" at the filter chooser. Stupid mistake. Thanks for your help.

Does deactivating Create thumbnails for whole folder in Tools → Settings → Thumbnail → Misc speed things up, Micha?

@Pierre: XnView Classic (Tools → Options → File List → Misc.) can be configured to Recognize only by extension and not to Scan file headers in folders. Are these options available in MP, too?

It's doesn't help. For example I have a directory of 30 Rhino3D files and one image file. The 30 thumnails are direct shown at the UI so they all are scanned. After several seconds the 30 files are scanned and the thumbnails skipped. It would be great to get the functionality of XnView Classic. I would like to use XnView MP since it is much faster if I jump between previous cached directories, only the first time is much slower.

Any chance to get it working like at XnView Classic? For example if I look for an image at subfolders and use the "show all files (recursive) than it is so much slower now ... .

but it works like Classic, which unwanted thumbnails are loaded?

I'm not sure about your question, so here a screenshot where I see the wrong thumnails. But only until the whole directory is loaded. Than the unwanted thumbnails are hidden.

which sorting setting do you use?
