Using 64bit on 32bit Mac

I've searched the forum and been unable to find an answer.
I'm running OS 10.14 on my Mac and reluctant to upgrade to Catalina, changing from 32bit to 64bit as I will lose the use of some of my software and am reluctant to repurchase or go to subscription on some of them. I can't see a 32bit version of of XnView for Mac in the downloads section so can I use the latest version (64bit) on my Mac?
