No Refresh, metadata missing

macOS Catalina 10.5.1

The Refresh button doesn't work

If I save a modified file, the metadata is missing. When I switch to another directory and back the metadata reappears.

That' somehow strange...

No, I didn't change the metadata, not in XnViewMP, not in the image editor (PhotoLine).

This also happens if I convert a RAW image with RPP which saves the TIF to the same folder — no EXIF data in the converted file.

Yes, or by changing to another directory and then coming back to where the new image had been saved.

you have this problem only when you save a file in XnView MP, and go back to browser?

Yes, only in XnView MP

I have XnView MP open, see the thumbnails. Pick a RAW file and convert it with the converter in a small windos, so I still see the thumbnails.

Then I see the new image added to the thumbnail list, but file information is missing. Even a »refresch (F5)« will not show the missing data.

oh it's after converting a file. you convert it with 'batch convert'? or external app?

External app: RPP — RawPhotoProzessor macOS

But even if I for example scale an image down with an external image editor and save it as a JPEG to the same folder, the data are missing, until I switch directories back and forth.
