"Preview - After" - always the same?

Under "Actions - right side: Preview: After" I see always the first picture in the list.
Also the arrows for "Previous file / next file" counts up the number of the file and the size of the preview changes, but the content is always the same.

"Preview: Before" is OK and shows different images.

In my experience there are two issues with the preview function:

Usually the preview (Before, and After when the tab is selected) is displayed automatically, but sometimes it is necessary to click the small arrow (with the tooltip 'Apply actions') between the Actions and Preview windows to display the preview. I noticed that seeming inconsistency a long time back, and have answered posts where no preview was displayed until the arrow was clicked. Possibly related to particular actions??

And when a multi-page file is loaded, it is only possible to preview the effect of the actions on the first page, which could be a significant limitation. So really small arrows, like those used in the XnView MP viewer to step through the pages of a multi-page file, are needed.

In the current case I don't have multipage-image, but yes ...

this brings the desired result.

But I consider this as a workaround and not as standard behaviour.

The problem, I think, is the unexplained inconsistency...

There is also the question of why the 'Apply actions' button is provided when normally it isn't required... :?:

My second issue above, about previewing multipage files, would probably better be made as a separate topic, I'm not sure if I might have done that already, Pierre?

@cday

please feel free to make a new thread for the multipage-topic.

Thank you XnTriq:

I think I should make a specific request as a separate topic to add the ability to preview the pages of a multi-page file.

@Peter 2

Are you able to reproduce? If so it would be helpful if you could post details on this new thread Preview operates inconsistently. :D

Or anyone else?

I'll take a look, but at the moment I'm busy with other stuff.
