Hello:

My printing Preview is illegible. Is there any way to get it legible? (I have looked, but ...)

Thanks,

Hans L

I just did three files as thumbnails and they looked ok here
What version of XnView MP are you using and what is your operating system?
What EXACTLY are you doing> Printing one at a time or thumbnails? Or something else? How do they print even though the preview is messed up?

A little more information and those more knowledgeable than I will be able to better help you

Rick, you are right, I should have given more info.

I click the print icon to print a jpg file (print size 8.5x11"). Preview looks like in attachment. Printout is fine.

I use MP 0.94.2 (said to be latest). OS is Windows 10, v 1803, 64-bit.

Ok .. I loaded something that was basically text and got the same thing. With a lot of text that may be as good as it gets. Pictures of people, buildings et al load fine here, probably with a similar loss of detail but your mind can fill in the rest

You might just check with a not text rich picture and see if this is true for you. A preview is just that and is only really meant to be a rough representation of the item so you can check if you have the right item and if it is oriented correctly and so on

Rick, thanks for checking. Now, I do not agree with you that Preview "... is only really meant to be a rough representation of the item ...". No reason it cannot be a true representation. And what is the use of a preview if you cannot preview it?

Well it is pretty much universal. I print spreadsheets and the effect is the same

Well, I am sure you are right, but I have never accepted the argument that what most people do is necessarily correct (I just saw a TV news program that reported that Davenport, Illinois could not spend $175 million to build a flood wall, and then had to spend $4 billion to clean up the latest flooding disaster; universal, perhaps, but quite stupid if you ask me).

Not what people "do" but the nature of the beast. A preview, like a thumbnail, do not give the same quality as the full sized image

But as for Davenport Iowa, they may not have had the $175 million but once the river over flowed, They were declared a federal disaster area and qualified for relief and the $4 billion was probably paid by the federal government  Just business as usual

Damn it, Rick, you outwitted me :-) :-)

Just after I wrote what I wrote, I though of exactly what you said, and hoped that you would not think of it :-)

I love it!!!
