Problems with XnView Classic and XnView MP

G'day everyone!

I'm brand new to the forum but have been using XnView for many years and have always loved it!

I have XnView Classic 2.49 and my favourite feature is clicking Slideshow to watch all my photos and videos. I don't create anything, just like to watch them randomly feature on the screen. However, I have recently picked up a problem where, a few seconds after the slideshow starts, the screen tints and becomes very dark. When I stop the XnView slideshow, all returns to normal, but then does it again when I start the slideshow again.

I tried installing XnView MP Version 0.95 and ran the slideshow and the tinting issue was resolved but it doesn't recognise the video folders (i.e. it thinks they're empty). When I stopped the slideshow and used XnView to open up the video folders, it plays the sound but only shows the video as a still image.

I really don't mind which XnView I use (I was quite happy with the Classic). I just want to be able to watch my photos and videos without the dark screen. :D

I think I may have fixed it!

I'll post what I did, in case anyone else has the same problem.

Short Version:

I did a complete uninstall and reinstall using the default settings.

Long Version:

A few moths ago (when I first started having the problem), I did a soft install that did nothing.

A few days ago, I uninstalled the programme using IOBIT Uninstaller, it said it was uninstalled unsuccessfully, and was no longer showing in the Windows Add and Remove Programmes but the data was still in the path file (I used a custom install folder, not the default Program Files). When I clicked the executable file, it still ran, and I still had the problem. Then I tried downloading the MP version, and then the above post.

Then I decided to have another play. I used IOBIT Uninstaller to remove it again, then manually deleted the file path, then reinstalled it, again, using the default Program File install settings.

So far, the problem has no reoccurred. :D

Do you had this problem before??

Video is not yet supported

Do I understand that you are able to play mixed content in Slideshow without problems?
I installed XnView Classic and although playback of photos in slide show works well, video in slideshow does not work.
I have folders with mixed content, pictures and video, and would like to playback all content with slide show.

I am rather confused after reading XnView rep Pieres answer saying that this function is not available yet?
Does this mean that XnView cannot play video files in Slideshow?

Thank you for your response.
Uninstalled MP and Downloaded XnView Classic.
When I ran slide show, as soon as it got to the video file it could not open the .MOV file.
I tried a .mpg file and that seemed to run OK.
How do I get XnView to recognise .MOV files?
