Automatic size when opening images

Hi,
as a new user I start my first experiences with XNView. In the version I got there is no handbook to look for help for. And there is no one on the website either. Isn't there any?
So still I am not able to bring large pictures automatically down to screen size when I change from one pic to another.
What's the trick?

Go to:
Tools->Options->View->Auto Image Size->Fit Image To Window (All or Large as you wish)

Aokromes hint is correct and should help, just some background info:
There is a menu "View-> Auto image size" and an option "Auto image size".
The menu "View -> Auto image size" will be applied on the current image, only (=temporary setting). Whereas the option "Auto image size" will be applied on any image opened or navigated to (=permanent setting).

You can download XnView in various packages: Standard, Minimal, Complete. Only the "Complete version" has the Online help included. The idea is that people can download the modules they really need and in the right language.
In your case, the Online help is missing, you can download an English, French, or German version of the online help (=manual) on the
XnView Download page, section "Add-Ons".
