GPS Latitude and Longitude are not displayed under the Info Pane > EXIF tab for a Canon CR3 RAW file even though those data are contained in an XMP sidecar file. The coordinates do appear under the XMP and ExifTool tabs. (By contrast, the GPS coordinates are displayed under all three tabs for a Canon CR2 RAW file.) As a result, for a CR3 file the GPS tab does not appear in the Info Pane.

Effect: The geolocation of the CR3 image cannot be displayed on a map by clicking the Info Pane > GPS tab as it can for other RAW formats .

To reproduce:
1. In XnViewMP open a folder containing a Canon CR3 RAW file with its XMP sidecar file containing <exif:GPSLatitude> and <exif:GPSLatitude> values.
2. Select a layout displaying the Info Pane.
3. Select View > Info pane, then check all boxes in the submenu.
4. From the thumbnail grid view of XnViewMP, select the CR3 image to display its properties in the Info Pane.
5. Click on each of the XMP, ExifTool, and EXIF tabs of the Info Pane and search under each for the GPS coordinates.

Actual behaviour (bug): The GPS Latitude and Longitude are missing from the EXIF tab. The GPS tab itself is also missing

Expected behaviour: The GPS Latitude and Longitude appear under the EXIF tab. The GPS tab also appears, thereby enabling a map view.

ok, if .xmp contains GPS info, it is not readed... XnView support currently only EXIF>GPS

Would you please try the following? I'd like to hear your comments on the results.
1. Open the *.CR3 RAW file I sent you into XnviewMP.
2. Open the menu selection Edit > Properties.
3. Click the ExifTool tab.
4. Scroll down to the EXIF section.
5. Scrolling farther below EXIF, you should see values for GPS Latitude and GPS Longitude.

To me, this indicates the *.CR3 RAW file contains GPS location in its EXIF data, at least according to ExifTool, a fairly reputable authority. Yet, if the EXIF tab is selected in XnViewMP's Properties window for the file, the GPS location does NOT appear.

By contrast, when I execute the above steps on a *.CR2 RAW file from an older Canon camera, I find the GPS location listed under both the ExifTool and EXIF tabs in XnViewMP's Properties window for that file. (I can send you that *.CR2 file if you require.) This difference in behavior is apparently at the root of my problem.

Is XnViewMP responsible for recognizing the existence of the GPS location displayed in the ExifTool as EXIF data in CR3 files, or is it the responsibility of MS Windows? Windows 10 has its own problems with CR3 files. For example, unless a special extension is obtained from Microsoft, File Explorer cannot display CR3 thumbnails is its directory listings under the current version of Windows 10.
