Hello,

XNViewMP behaves strangely on m machine. I normally begin with the browser in fullscreen-mode. The first image I open, opens correctly as viewer (in this car in fullscreenmode as the browser was used before). After double-clicking the image and leaving the viewer I'm back again in the browser (still fullscreen). When I double-click the next image somewhere in the browser it opens again in viewer (still fullscreen) but after double-clicking the image I'm back in the browser and XNViewMP is leaving the fullscreen mode by itself.

I use macOS Catalina, double-clicking is set to browser - viewer, maximum register cards is set to 1.

Yes, same behavior on 0.96

I've tried with no bug:
-Start XnView in fullscreen - browser
-open an image file
-close tab
-open another image file
-close => always in fullscreen

sorry for the late response. After playing a little bit around, I think I can reproduce the problem now.

Case 1 (as described in your last post)
1. start XNView already in fullscreen mode (only when you quit the application in fullscreen mode before)
2. Open Image
3. Close Image, back to browser
4. Open Image
5. Close Image, back to browser
... the window always stays in fullscreen mode

Case 2
1. start XNView in windowed mode (only when you quit the application in windowed mode before)
2. Click Fullscreen
3. Open Image
4. Close Image, back to browser
5. Open Image
6. Close Image, back to browser
... and then XNView leaves fullscreen mode an switches back to windowed mode
After these steps you can repeat, beginning with step 2, XNView always switches to windowed mode after the second image (step 6)

It seems to depend on the last saved state while quitting the app

2) you means click on fullscreen window?
You can always reproduce?

I'm on macOS Catalina - I mean the green button in the upper left corner of the window that switches the window to full screen.

And yes, I can always reproduce the problem. I even created a new user, opened fresh XNview with no changes to the settings and can reproduce the problem - it's not depending on any special settings.

I'm on Catalina too, but can't reproduce the case 2)

Strange that you can't reproduce it. I did another test ...

I installed XNViewMP on my daughters MacBook Pro running Catalina to tryout if it depends on my computer. But I can reproduce the behavior on her computer as well. I didn't change any settings in XNView, I opened the app, switched from fullscreen to windowed mode, then I quit the app. Then I restarted XNView (opened up in windowed mode), switched to fullscreen, opened and closed the first image, opened and closed the second image - and then it happened as expected - XNView left the fullscreen mode and switched to windowed mode.

you have hidden the tabs?
how do you open the image? how do you close the image view?

Yes, Tabs hidden
I open and close the image view through double clicking.

But that's not the point. I get the same failure only every Mac in my house, regardless what settings used. Even on a fresh user with fresh XNView and no changes made to the settings, so I think it doesn't depend on any specific settings.

Here's another video, other user, fresh XNView without changed settings.
It seems it takes a view more clicks. Last time I got the same result after only two images.

Thanks to your detailed description I can reproduce the problem.

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.96.3. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.
