Greetings,

I'm new to XnView MP.

I am not happy with the performance of Adobe Bridge CS6 when searching my files using metadata keywords.
I just discovered XnView MP while looking for alternative ways to search (or catalogue) the metadata of Adobe Illustrator (.AI) files.

My question is: Why can Can XnView MP display the metadata that is in .AI files but cannot search it?

XnView MP is successfully displaying the keyword metadata I add to my .AI files using Adobe Illustrator's File info tool, but doesn't seem to be able to find it in metadata searches (Ctrl+F). XnView MP does, however, find the metadata in raster images created with Adobe Illustrator.

The most important metadata for my purposes is that, which using Adobe Illustrator, I enter under File>File info>Description>Keywords.
In XnView MP this same metadata is listed in the Info window under Exiftool>XMP>Subject.

When I want to search the metadata in my collection of .AI files using XnView MP, I go Tools>Search (Ctrl+F), and add a search category "XMP:SUBJECT".

As I said, the results only include raster images. The search function does not list any .AI files.

Am I doing something wrong, or is there a setting I need to change?

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.96.3. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.

I downloaded XnView MP 0.96.4 and yes, the problem has been solved.
It works like a charm now.
