If I let show all items that are labelled with a category, and then use the "filter by" it doesn't work properly in most cases.

Only sometimes when setting the filter at first and then choosing a category (or of the "special items") it does.

EDIT:
To be more specific: Occurs in "Details" view, when switching filter from "All" to ... for example "Videos" or "Archives".

you switch between from "All" to "Videos", and file list is not good?

In "detailed" view, in thumbnail view everthing is OK.

i can't reproduce, 'details' & 'thumbnails' use the same sorting

OK, I tried again.
Now with a different effect.

In the categories filter pane a select a category.
In the item pane: thumbnails + filter "all".
(It shows mostly images)
Now I change filter from "all" to "video":
No change. The same items are shown. Especially all the images!
Error.

If I select another filter category and then back to the first one:
Only videos are shown.

Same behaviour when in "detailed" view.

BTW I do Win7, 64bit

The bug occurs in browser pane ... "sometimes".
The bug occurs in category pane ... "mostly".

Strange indeed.

Sometimes it is there, sometimes not.

Although - in this case - with selected category, the switching the filter nearly always fails

It might be very helpful if anybody could tell if he can/ cannot reproduce these effects,
preferably at Win7-64...

But actually it is NOT the case.
I just checked it:
One of the rare occations when it works:
View filter is "all".
Chose a categorie.
Change filter to "video".
==> filter IS performed.

To tell the truth, I begin to loose trust in XnViewMP

After some search (not easy to find it), if you disabled settings>file list>recognize by ext, it works
