Can I use XnView to open a Kodak PhotoCD file (PCD) in the highest resolution on a MacX 10.15.4?

Please refer to “Convert Kodak .PCD files”.

Hi, same issue with getting only the 768x512 resolution vers of my Kodak .pcd files. I have already gone through the "Convert Kodak PCD files" instructions you thoroughly posted but I cannot follow the step of "Download pcd.zip" to get the required plugin, as nothing downloads when I click that link---which I note was posted in 2016. I've made all the other setting changes (short of the plugin) and not surprisingly, that does not work. I don't see a download for pcd.zip or any plugins from any webpages for XnView or XnConvert (I've installed both). How can I get the required plugin? Thanks very much

The Plugins download link that I have leads to the XnView Classic download page, but I don't see any plugins available for direct download there.

However the XnView Classic 'Extended' version listed is said to include all Plugins and Addons, probably only 32-bit plugins though and I'm not sure whether those would work with XnView MP 64-bit if you are using that.

Ok.
I loaded the XnView Classic (32 bit) which, note, DOES contain the pcdlib32 plugin. (For those who need the plugin, I did find it as a download from the "You may want to check out all the Addons also available for XnView." link on the download page)
The XnView Classic ver reads the .pcd files as full resolution (yaay). BUT there is no menu option “File/Format Settings” in which to specify hi-res output, like the previous instructions in the forum say. However, I DID find this option in another pulldown. It’s under Tools/Options/Read then select PhotoCD and select Parameters PCD size Base 16 (2048x3072). With this read option selected, the Convert function DID give me hi-res output.
Phew, it worked! Thx :D :D

It would be helpful for future needs if you could post the link to plugins that you found?

And which software are you using the plugin in, and is it 32-bit or 64-bit software?

You're right, I actually thought of that only after I had put up the post.
I'm running Windows 10, originally with the 64 bit vers of XnView, but per this thread, installed the 32 bit ver, XnView Classic, which is available here:
https://www.xnview.com/en/xnview/#addons. The addons link is on that page and it is viewtopic.php?f=35&t=11715 and you want the one that says "allows to read high resolution PCD files"
This plugin, as you said, is already in the Classic download, so I did not have to install it, although I did download it just in case. I did not try to install it in the 64 bit version of XnView that I had originally installed, so I don't know if it will work there. I also have 64 bit XnConvert, and did not try it there either.

Thanks for the clarifications, I've noted the updated addons link, I couldn't see it anywhere when I searched.

I would presume that the plugin only works in 32-bit xnview software, although possibly 64-bit software could be programmed to work with some 32-bit software, 64-bit scanning TWAIN support was eventually added using conversion code Pierre wrote.

Now that xnview software includes not only Windows 32-bit applications but also 64-bit versions and also Mac and Linux versions, a full table or matrix displaying available addons and plugins and the software that supports them would be useful, a significant undertaking I would think, though.
