0.96.2: 'Filter by' menu sometimes failing and all files are displayed

Subject: 0.96.2: 'Filter by' menu sometimes failing and all files are displayed
XnView: XnView MP Windows Version 0.96.2 64bits (zipped version)
OS: Windows 64bit (Windows 7 Pro, 16GB memory)
Description: upon selecting a filter in 'Filter by' menu of the Browser Toolbar; all files may be displayed, regardless of the selected filter.
Effect: display glitch
memo: This does not happen with every folder or every filter. In my case, I tried this from three different folders; and the problem appeared in two of them. However, the two folders had problems with different filters. One had a problem with the SOUNDS filter and the other had problems with the VIDEOS filter. Luckily, once you find a folder-filter problem; it is always be reproducible (even after restarting XnView).
To reproduce:
1. BROWSE a folder in thumbnail view
2. Select 'Filter by' VIDEOS (or whatever)
3. ...
Actual behaviour (bug): ALL File Types are displayed in Browse window
Expected behaviour: Thumbnails for VIDEO files show be displayed.
When it works; I see:
If I then select a different folder; and then re-select the original folder, I get a screen refresh and the correct files are displayed.

- all files are displayed
- I see the progress-bar run across the bottom of the screen
- screen refreshes; and only the files selected by the filter are now visible.
If I then select a different folder; and then re-select the original folder, I get a screen refresh and the correct files are displayed.
