Inconsistent/Different behavior of "space bar" in Browser and Viewer interfaces for video/audio files

Hi,

As shown in the screencast (https://bit.ly/3guH7RJ), there is an inconsistent behavior of "space bar" in Browser and Viewer interfaces for video/audio files

Settings>Interface>Keyboard = SPACE set to "no action" or "next file"
Viewer: Play/stop reproduction
Browser: Nothing happens
Expected behavior of the SPACE bar => Play/stop reproduction also in Browser interface.

If you need further information, please let me know.

Thanks!

@xnview

I'm glad you could reproduce the bug.

a) Just clarifying my former message, the expected behavior refers only to SPACE set to "no action" (previously I mentioned "next file" too).
So, the expected behavior of the SPACE bar in that case is:
Play/stop reproduction in Browser/Viewer interfaces, as well as in Fullscreen

b) Taking the opportunity of this direct communication with you, I'd like to make the connection of this topic to another one:
Add autoplay button in the player bar: viewtopic.php?f=60&t=34513

I'm connecting both topics because IMO they are the main XnViewMP usability shortcomings when dealing with video/audio files: (a) lack of the space bar to play/stop the reproduction working on every interface, and (b) the difficult access/toggle of the auto-play setting (the suggestion is a toggle button directly available on the playback toolbar, or even on the main toolbar).

Thank you!

in fact, not easy :)

Interface>SPACE is used by 'edit mode', and SPACE can be configured by user to an action.

So the only way is to add in 'interface>SPACE', 'play/stop video', what do you think?

Sounds perfect and is a very welcomed solution.
Thank you!

+1 Adding "Play/stop video" to the list of assignable actions is a clear and thus good solution.

After retesting, it works in 0.99.7 :) SPACE plays/pauses video file in browser mode.
