IPTC-IIM/XMP Editor deletes the embedded ICC profile in "XMP only" mode

I would be glad if anyone could confirm this or, even better, explain that it is only something silly on my side.
XnView MP 0.96.4 64-bit, default settings, Windows 10.
Reproduced using an Ubuntu Studio 18.04 virtual machine with the XnView MP 0.96.4 appimage 64-bit.
To reproduce:
1. In browser, select a jpeg image with an embedded ICC profile.
2. Ctrl-I to start the IPTC-IIM/XMP Editor
3. In the Options tab, select Mode: XMP only
4. Press the "Write" button.
Actual behaviour (bug): The ICC profile is deleted.
Additional notes:
Selecting any of the other three modes
- IPTC-IIM, update or create XMP
- XMP, update or create IPTC-IIM
- IPTC-IIM only
does not delete the profile, but after pressing "Write" the profile disappears from the "Info - Properties" panel. "Update catalog from files" does nothing, neither does "Refresh", but switching to another file and back shows the colour profile again.
Tested only on jpeg images with different colour profiles, with colour management disabled and enabled.
I am sorry, if this is a known issue, I was not able to find it. Have a nice evening, be well!
