Metadata on heif

When I convert images the “date taken” exif timestamp is changed to the current date and time. Is their something I’m missing?
And that’s going from jpeg to heif
And running windows

On the Output tab do you have 'Preserve Metadata' selected?

Currently in XnView MP, soon for XnConvert
